Post-Pandemic Mass Resignations?

Image
I was reading an article about the coming flood of resignations that are expected - people who have found that their "before times" career or position just wasn't the right fit for them and they realized this while they were working from home, or were laid off.  Are you feeling out of sorts, not feeling the vibe of the job you once had or maybe still have?  How do you cope with that feeling? How do you prepare yourself to return to work in the "post-pandemic"?  Sit down with yourself and create a list of what you love, don't love, and can live with  about your current job or the one you did in the "before times".  Evaluate your core strengths and assess whether you are using them in your job.  Look hard at the culture - are you a quiet person who prefers to work alone but you work in an open concept work space with a lot of noise and a lot of group collaboration? Are you creative but your boss doesn't allow you to use your creativity? Before y...

Stress & Burnout in the Workplace

Image
It comes as no surprise that employees are experiencing greater rates of burnout these days.  This past year we have all been tested and stretched to our limits! I recently read this article (link below) and it really hit home. It is vital that employers become aware of the impact of stress and burnout on how the team functions, how productive people can be, and how engaged their workforce is - not just for the financial benefits (and there are many!) but for the sake of the people who keep the business going every day. How can employers prevent burnout in their employees?  The basics include transparency to ease anxiety about the future, extending some flexibility to employees to take time off with pay, flexibility in schedules to accommodate the work from home demands many employees face, and better health benefits. To really help people, webinars or workshops on meditation, stress reduction, personal empowerment and improved communication - all often overlooked - are effe...

Choose Your Zone!

Image
We tend to live in the Comfort Zone . It's familiar. It feels safe.  Many people live in the Fear Zone , where the weight of the opinions of others is crushing their aspirations. leaving them vulnerable to self-doubt. We would love to live in the Growth Zone , but we don't know how to get there! Would you love to set new goals ? Find purpose and li ve your dreams ?  When the discomfort of the Comfort Zone or the Fear Zone becomes impossible to ignore , or when the promise of happiness or fulfillment becomes too compelling to pass by, we start thinking about moving to a different zone. Think about your own life.  What zone are you in right now? Is that where you want to be? Why, or why not? Maybe you're feeling stuck in a career or job that doesn't fulfill you or where you don't get to use your key strengths. Maybe you've raised your kids and suddenly find that you don't really know who you are any more. Maybe you've recently divorced and have not...

How's Your Sleep?

Image
So many people are complaining about not getting enough sleep or not being able to get a good, restful sleep these days.  Do you know how important sleep actually is? Aside from the obvious feeling the day after a bad sleep, sleep is vital for productivity, long term health (hearth health, prevention of stroke & dementia), improved decision-making, and HAPPINESS ! Some reasons for poor sleep: medical issues, depression and other diagnosed mental health issues, as well as a poor physical environment (like a bad mattress or a need for a darker room). Unfortunately, I can't help with those issues but there are solutions out there for most. More reasons: "monkey mind", stress, poor sleep hygiene, lack of tools for calming your brain. These are issues I can help with! If you are looking for evidence-based, tried and true ways to get a better sleep, look no further! On Wednesday, May 12th at 7:00 PM EDT , I am offering a free virtual workshop to help you Sleep Well. BUT y...

What if....?

Image
Did you know: You can NEVER rise above your own opinion of yourself? Did you know: We all have limiting beliefs that can hold us back from reaching our true potential ? Did you know: You can change your inner dialogue and alter your own perception and belief about yourself using a simple phrase ? What if...? When you ask this, what comes into your mind automatically ? For many of us, that sentence ends in "I fail", "I can't", or "I'm not good enough". But, what if..... We substitute those words with something different and change the ending of that story? I succeed I can I am good enough And what if.... We take it a step farther? Consider the obstacles you may encounter and ask: What if (insert obstacle here), then (insert strategy for overcoming the obstacle). Simple? Yes. Doable? Yes.  Remember : There are NO quick fixes ! This is a daily/hourly practice to make this a habit . What if you tried it?
